Dr Ian Taylor

Dr Ian Taylor graduated in medicine from UWA in 1980, and after post graduate training at Fremantle Hospital, moved with his wife Diane and their small children to Geraldton to join the GMG in 1984 “for a few years”. Thirty years later, they are still here except the kids have grown up and most of them now live in Perth! In their 30 + years in Geraldton, Ian and Di have seen enormous growth to the town and the Geraldton Medical Group, and are proud to call themselves country folks, and in particular, Geraldtonians! Dr Taylor is a Fellow of the Australian College of Remote and Rural Medicine and holds a Diploma from the Royal Australian and NZ College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. In June 2019, Ian delivered his last baby and has now officially retired from Obstetrics. His special interests in medicine include anaesthetics, aged care and palliative care. Over the years, Ian has been actively involved in the Geraldton Community, and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Geraldton Greenough for over twenty years and a past president. Ian is Chairman of the Midwest GP Network and the Geraldton Hospital Medical Advisory Committee. He has spent some time as an actor and director at Theatre 8, and is a very keen photographer. Grandparenthood has added a new dimension to Ian and Di’s lives, necessitating frequent trips to Perth! They are passionate Fremantle Dockers members, very obvious from the purple décor and paraphernalia in Ian’s office! He is still hanging out for that elusive premiership…! GO DOCKERS!

Dr Sara Peet
MD, DRANZCOG
Sara graduated with a doctor of medicine from UWA in 2018, having previously being a science school teacher. She grew up in Busselton and is delighted to be back in the country after a long stint working in Perth hospitals. Sara has special interests in women’s health and pregnancy care, with extra qualifications in obstetrics and gynaecology.
When not working, Sara enjoys hockey, rowing, surf lifesaving, hiking, sewing and brunch.
Dr Keith Figueiredo
MBBS, FRACGP, FACRRM, DRANZCOG, DA, GAICD
Keith was brought up in Perth and he obtained his medical degree at the University of Western Australia. His interests in medicine include the whole aspect of Rural Medicine, in particular giving the Geraldton people access to good quality medical services, and keeping Rural Practice sustainable. He is particularly fond of Obstetrics and Anaesthetics. Keith loves living in Geraldton and has been here since 1997. His wife Bridget is very tolerant of his erratic work hours, and their two children were born in Geraldton. Keith enjoys cycling, gardening, chilling out watching 5 days of cricket every summer at the WACA, barracking for the Eagles when they are not doing too well, and visiting the vineyards of Margaret River on his vacations.
Dr Anahita Hamidi
MD, MSc, PhD
Ana, a seasoned GP with a rich background in medicine from Tehran, has joined our team with extensive research and PhD in sleep and cardiometabolic disorders, Dr. Ana brings a unique expertise as a previous senior lecturer, especially in women’s health, cardiac care, and geriatrics. She is passionate about making Geraldton a healthier community and looks forward to engaging with all our walks of life. Outside the clinic, she enjoys baking, gardening, and spending time with her daughter and her smart border collie.
Dr Yasmin Mohamed

After graduation from Assiut university of Egypt in 2002, I obtained my fellowship degree in family
medicine and worked as a general practitioner for more than 14 years in Egypt. Then, I decided to
move to Kuwait with my family, where I worked as a GP for another 6 years.
Now, I am residing in Geraldton with my husband and 3 beloved children. In my free time I enjoy
jogging, swimming and reading. I also like social gatherings and social activities.
I have special interest in psychology.
Dr Chinnu Surendran

Dr. Chinnu, originally from India, completed her MBBS in China and holds a Diploma in Family Medicine from the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) in the UK. She has been an active international member of the RCGP (MRCGP) since 2018. Recently relocated from the UAE, Dr. Chinnu brings over 12 years of experience in the medical field.
She excels in providing holistic care, offering high-quality, personalized treatment, and consistently applying evidence-based guidelines in her practice. Having worked in various medical institutions across India and the UAE, she has developed a broad knowledge base and expertise, which she now applies to her patient care.
Her special interests include chronic disease management, acute medicine, and family medicine. Dr. Chinnu is fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, learning about new cultures, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Dr Phyo Aung

Since graduation in 2005 in my country, Myanmar, I have been in medical practice almost continuously. After working for 6 years mainly in a regional hospital in my country, I joined Changi General Hospital, Singapore, where I worked under general medicine for nearly 7 years. During that period, I earned diploma in Respiratory Medicine for the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, in 2017 and MRCP(UK) in 2018. I then relocated to Western Australia in the middle of the Covid Pandemic in December 2020.
Before I joined Panaceum Medical, I worked in Rockingham General Hospital and Geraldton Regional Hospital as a medical registrar under general medicine. I want to be a caring, passionate general practitioner with upmost honesty and integrity. I have vast knowledge in adult chronic disease management, but am generally interested in every aspect of general practice. During my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and enjoy playing with my lovely kids.
Dr Jennifer Javier

I am a compassionate Family Medicine Specialist from the Philippines. I graduated from Cagayan State University, started General Practice in the Philippines in 2007, with special interest in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, General Medicine, Acute and Chronic Diseases and Geriatrics . Initially conferred Diplomate in Occupational Medicine by Philippine College of Occupational Medicine in 2016 I worked as Offshore Medic/Occupational Health Physician in an Oil and Gas Company for 4 years.
I further honed my skills in General Practice through residency training in Family and Community Medicine at Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center and served as Chief Resident in final year. Conferred as Diplomate in Family Medicine by Philippine Academy of Family Physicians in 2022, and further served as Volunteer/ Visiting consultant of the same institution. Prior to moving to Australia, I worked in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Department of Geriatrics in Singapore as a key member of a team that specializes in the care of patients with Dementia, Delirium and Depression.
I lead the assessment of newly referred patients with complex geriatrics and behavioural care, instituting specialty intervention under the guidance of the attending Geriatric Consultant. In my free time I love traveling to places, exploring cultures and food. I Enjoy long road trips & driving. Old churches, beaches and markets are her must go places. At home, she loves cooking, doing crafts and gardening.
