Dr Murray James-Wallace

Dr James-Wallace is a graduate of the University of Western Australia. He is a fellow of two medical colleges. He provides anaesthetics, enjoys delivering babies and any form of family practice. In his spare time he helps run a kids primary school-age vacation program, teaches Sunday School, and helps to get his 4 children ready for school under close supervision from his wife. Growing up in Albany, Dr JW had always been keen to see country patients have easier access to city class medical services and Panaceum is part of his shared vision to make health care easier for all.
Dr Keith Figueiredo
MBBS, FRACGP, FACRRM, DRANZCOG, DA, GAICD
Keith was brought up in Perth and he obtained his medical degree at the University of Western Australia. His interests in medicine include the whole aspect of Rural Medicine, in particular giving the Geraldton people access to good quality medical services, and keeping Rural Practice sustainable. He is particularly fond of Obstetrics and Anaesthetics. Keith loves living in Geraldton and has been here since 1997. His wife Bridget is very tolerant of his erratic work hours, and their two children were born in Geraldton. Keith enjoys cycling, gardening, chilling out watching 5 days of cricket every summer at the WACA, barracking for the Eagles when they are not doing too well, and visiting the vineyards of Margaret River on his vacations.
Dr Kyaw (Steven) Lwin
MBBS (YGN), Adv. DRANZCOG, Dip. Women’s Health, Dip. Child Health
Dr Lwin is a graduate of the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, Myanmar and has obtained the advanced diploma from Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists after being fully trained at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women. He is currently providing Obstetric Services including Caesarean Section and Obstetric Ultrasound. While he is enjoying all aspects of General Practice, he has special interests in office based minor procedures such as excision of skin lesions, insertion and removal of Implanon etc. Having been in love with the town, he decided to become a permanent GP proceduralist in Geraldton. He was able to make such a decision with not much hassle as his partner could manage to get a satisfying job in Geraldton, saving him a number of weekend long-hour drives down to Perth!
Dr Jim Murray
MB. BCh. B.A.O. D.C.H
Graduated from the National University of Ireland. Has worked in Ireland, England and Middle East prior to moving to Geraldton in 1986. Jim’s special interests are Men’s Health, Aged care and children. His hobbies are golf and music.
Dr Richard Taylor
MBBS, BSc(OT), DRANZCOG
Dr Richard Taylor is a procedural GP with Anaesthetics and Obstetrics qualifications. He moved back to Geraldton with his family in 2014 to join the practice and to complete his fellowship in General Practice. Richard works full time from Panaceum Medical and provides services at the local hospitals to deliver babies and provide Anaesthetic work to our local and visiting specialists and surgeons.
Dr Bethany Nelson
MBBS, Adv. Dipl. Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dipl. Child Health
Dr Bethany Nelson graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2005. She previously practised at the Panaceum from 2009-2016. After spending 5 years working in Timor-Leste, Bethany is now back in Geraldton. She has special interests in child health as well as women’s health including pregnancy care.
Dr Ahmed Gabah
MBBS, Master Degree in Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management
Ahmed graduated from Cairo University, Egypt in 2011. He completed his training in Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Pain Management at Kasr Al-Ainy Teaching Hospital in Cairo and then worked as an Anaesthesia and ICU Specialist for few years. Dr Gabah subsequently came to Australia in 2018; working for Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide as ICU Registrar before moving to Geraldton to work at the Geraldton Regional Hospital in different departments including surgical, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Emergency Department. He then continued his work as a Medical Registrar at the Geraldton Regional Hospital. Ahmed is married with 2 young kids. Apart from being a GP, he enjoys reading, spending time with his family and playing soccer. He has a special interest in Paediatrics, Skin Cancer, Men’s Health, and Chronic Disease Management.
Dr Sherwin Xie
Sherwin was brought up in Singapore, worked as a scientist and earned a mastery in Zoological Sciences, before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Western Australia. He has worked for 3 years in Adult and Paediatric Medicine before choosing to specialise in Family medicine where he can act as a liaison and navigator between hospitals/specialists and patients. His special interest is Paediatric Medicine, where he had previously worked at Perth Children’s Hospital. Sherwin’s areas of interest are Child and Adolescent Medicine.
Dr Phyo Aung
Since graduation in 2005 in my country, Myanmar, I have been in medical practice almost continuously. After working for 6 years mainly in a regional hospital in my country, I joined Changi General Hospital, Singapore, where I worked under general medicine for nearly 7 years. During that period, I earned diploma in Respiratory Medicine for the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, in 2017 and MRCP(UK) in 2018. I then relocated to Western Australia in the middle of the Covid Pandemic in December 2020.
Before I joined Panaceum Medical, I worked in Rockingham General Hospital and Geraldton Regional Hospital as a medical registrar under general medicine. I want to be a caring, passionate general practitioner with upmost honesty and integrity. I have vast knowledge in adult chronic disease management, but am generally interested in every aspect of general practice. During my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and enjoy playing with my lovely kids.
Dr Roshan Mampilly
Dr Roshan Paul Mampilly graduaed her MBBS from India. She did her masters in General Medicine from India, after which she moved to Australia to join her family in 2018. Roshan worked as a General Medicine Registrar for the next three years, obtained her general registration and finally moved to GP lane to pursue her dream of family medicine.
She has worked in South Australia and Perth metro before moving to Geraldton. Roshan has special interest in managing general medicine patients, managing chronic disease like Diabetes and Hypertension. Other interests include mental health and women’s health.
Outside of work and study, Roshan is keen in painting, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Dr Prad Salivahane
MBBS, M.S. (General Surgery)
Prad graduated medicine in 2005, completing surgical training in 2012. He has worked in various hospitals and practices in India and Australia such as surgical departments including acute, general and transplant surgical units, psychiatry and mental health, geriatrics , trauma and emergency medicine, cardiac and intensive care units to name a few . He has been involved in teaching surgical skills to fellow surgeons, GP’s and junior medical doctors through the Clinical Training and Evaluation Centre (CTEC) an experience he enjoys and hopes to continue. Prad enjoys working in the Geraldton community, as it reminds him of his hometown in India. In his spare time, Prad enjoys family time playing table tennis, badminton, boating and fishing. His interests are in dermatological procedures and skin cancer screening and is looking forward to providing his patients with the best of care.
Dr Qasim Alam
I graduated from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan in 2004. I practiced in Pakistan as a senior registrar specialising in neonatal and paediatric intensive care for 4 years. I was a part of the initial relief team that helped in the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan. In 2008, I moved to New Zealand and worked around the North Island for 4 years before moving to Australia and found my passion in Emergency Medicine. I came to help relieve in Geraldton for six month and have not left for eight years. I enjoy the challenges that come with rural and regional health and am enjoying being a part of the Geraldton community. My medical interests are paediatrics, orthopaedic injuries, chronic health conditions and general medicine. I am passionate about teaching and continue to teach medical students. Apart from English I speak, Urdu, Hindi, Malay, and Indonesian. My hobbies include squash, cricket, reading, archery, and cooking.
Dr Mehrasa Yousefi
Mehrasa Graduated from KUMS and spent three years during COVID19 pandemic visiting patients in rural areas of Iran promoting health and preventive medicine. She has a bachelor of Radiology and expert in Medical imaging including CT-scan and MRI. She used to work as ED physician before coming to Australia awarded scholarship for Master of Public Health at ECU in 2023. She can also speak Persian and French and perfectly committed to patient-centered and culturally-sensitive practice.
She has an interest in gynecology and pediatrics as well as chronic disease and geriatrics.
Dr Sara Peet
Sara graduated with a doctor of medicine from UWA in 2018, having previously being a science school teacher. She grew up in Busselton and is delighted to be back in the country after a long stint working in Perth hospitals. Sara has special interests in women’s health and pregnancy care, with extra qualifications in obstetrics and gynaecology.
When not working, Sara enjoys hockey, rowing, surf lifesaving, hiking, sewing and brunch.
Dr Shayan Almassi
Shayan obtained his degree from Tehran University in 2019 and continued on working as a General Practitioner in Iran, before deciding to move to Australia.
Shayan loves playing and listening to music in his spare time and is a huge fan of Basketball, Tennis and Snooker.
Shayan’s interest are in surgery, cosmetic dermatology and ENT.
Dr Hooman Khalighi
I’ve been practicing medicine as a General practitioner since more than 26 year ago. I’m very interested in and passed many courses on non-invasive cosmetic procedures like filler and Botox injections, and so on as the advanced rejuvenation procedures. Also, I’m very interested in the management of chronic diseases like Diabetes, Asthma, Chronic Hypertension, and Heart diseases.
Apart from Medicine, I’m very keen on studying history, and my hobbies are fishing, swimming, watching criminal films, and spending time with my family.
