The aim of the Diabetes Clinic is to provide you with a regular review with Allied Health specialists and continue to assist you to make lifestyle changes that can slow the progression and avoid any long term complications of Diabetes.

 

Panaceum hosts a highly qualified team of allied health professionals all under the one roof, in a convenient set up.

OUR ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

 

Your first port of call, our Diabetes Nurse Educator performs clinical assessments, including reviewing blood glucose levels, urinalysis and blood pressure monitoring.


Wendy will show you how best to recognize and treat high and low blood glucose levels, manage medications and valuable techniques used to monitor your own blood glucose level.

 

Diabetes and nutrition information

Diet and eating habits greatly impact not only diabetes but your general health. Terri will provide you with the best available research, detailing latest diabetes and nutrition information.

Terri will also teach you practical skills and healthy eating habits, designed to better motivate you into effectively addressing the challenges of diet and weight control.

 

Regular monitoring of your feet is crucial to the prevention and/or the early identification of circulatory and podiatric problems as a result of diabetes.

 

Diabetes related foot conditions
Lara is experienced in screening for and treating all diabetes related foot conditions, including interference with nerves, loss of feeling and poor circulation, inhibiting your body’s ability to heal itself when damage occurs.

 

Effective and safe exercises

Physical activity is a key component in managing diabetes and your overall health. By following an exercise plan, your diabetes will be easier to manage.


Trained to develop an effective and safe exercise program, Zac will design a plan to help you meet your weight goals, fitness needs and generally improve your health.

 

BULKBILLED SERVICE

 

Running every second Tuesday from the rooms of both the Geraldton Medical Group and Panaceum Allied Health, anyone with Diabetes Type 1 or Type 2 or Impaired Glucose Tolerance qualifies for care.

If you have a current careplan in place with at least three valid sessions remaining on your enhanced primary care schedule, you will be bulkbilled for all services provided.
